Footpath issues

The severely overgrown condition of Footpath 1 from Church View up the steps and along the path at the side of St Clement's was reported to DCC on 2nd July. Following further concerns from parishioners this week, I have reported it again this afternoon and requested a prompt update. If you wish to report an issue yourself then please use the following method.

Rights of way - Derbyshire County Council

On the website you can make an enquiry about a promoted route or report a problem. You can locate where the issue is and even upload a photograph. Reporting online ensures your enquiry will be directed to the relevant inspector as quickly as possible. You will be sent a reference number so that you can check the status of your enquiry.

Village Hall

We are pleased to confirm that the new hall will be officially 'opened' on Sunday 28th July at 3.30pm.The Worshipful the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Amber Valley, Councillor John Walker and Mrs Angela Walker will 'cut the ribbon'.

Cathy Powles, who uses the Hall for her Zumba sessions will be giving a demonstration on the rec. at 4.00pm. Horsley and Coxbench WI will have a table as will one of our new faces, Karl Duro, who will be having Martial Arts sessions on a Thursday evening, will also be giving a demonstration after Cathy.

Those who contributed to the 'Buy a Brick' scheme can see the 90 engraved bricks which are adjacent to the entrance.

For anyone who cannot attend, Marianne Bednall, our Booking Secretary, will open the Hall on Tuesday 30 July between 9.30am and 11am, and again on Thursday 1 August between 2pm and 4pm. for those wishing to look around.
